About the union: LIUNA, the Laborers’ International Union of North America, is the most progressive, aggressive and fastest-growing union of construction workers, and one of the most diverse and effective unions representing public service employees. About the Local: Local 270 has provided representation and support for all their members in the Bay area, including members who work in both construction and industrial occupations. Their member’s skills range from heavy equipment operators, to grading and paving. Local 270’s geographic jurisdiction covers the California counties of San Benito, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey. They have offices in Salinas, San Jose and Santa Cruz, California

About the JATC: The Northern California Laborers Training Center provides apprentices and journeymen basic, as well as advanced, instruction in a variety of construction skills. Apprentices learn from instructors who have many years of experience in the construction industry and classes are equipped with modern equipment and tools, and strong emphasis is placed on operation and safety.
