About the International Union: Founded in 1865, the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers represents craftworkers in the trowel trades across the United States and Canada including bricklayers, stone and marble masons, cement masons, plasterers, tilesetters, terrazzo and mosaic workers, and pointers/cleaners/caulkers. Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers have worked for years to help build many of the buildings throughout North America.

About the Local Union: The mission of Local is to “provide for, protect and improve the general welfare of its members and employees represented by it.” Local 3 serves the area of Northern California, working on many high-profile jobs such as Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. Local 3 is committed to representing and training its large number of members.

About the JATC: The Mason Development Center offers instruction to apprentice level Bricklayers. While apprentices learn on-the-job, the training center supplements this with classroom instruction and some hands-on training. Additionally, the MDC provides upgraded safety training courses for apprentices and journeymen alike, including bricklayer, pointer, cleaner, caulker, marble masons and finishers, and terrazzo mechanics and finishers.
