The Santa Clara/San Benito Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, our affiliated unions, their members and their signatory contractors all promote a safe working environment.
This goal is achieved through industry-leading OSHA safety training, taught at our affiliated unions’ state-of-the-art training centers and paid for by their contractors.
By working together to not only promote safety, but to install it as a way of life for our union members, we have created the region’s safest construction workforce.
Numerous studies and statistics have proved unionized construction workers form the safest workforce in the construction industry. In Santa Clara and San Benito counties, we are proud that our members have a proven record of working safely.
The OSHA safety training our members receive helps to protect them from workplace dangers, stopping preventable accidents and make sure that all of our members go home to their families at the end of their shifts.
A safe workforce also helps to keep the cost of construction down by eliminating unnecessary downtime due to accidents, injuries or worse – workplace deaths.
